Grants and Programs

The Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation enables donors to make a difference in our community through grants, scholarships and programs. A collaborative effort of donors, volunteers, board and committee members and staff of the Community Foundation determine the greatest needs in these areas.

Grants

Due to the economic downturn, we will not have a Fall Grant Cycle in 2009. Our programs are given on an ongoing basis and are still available.

As a community foundation, we look forward to providing financial support to programs and organizations throughout the greater Itasca County Area. The Community Foundation is focusing on other core strengths – community resource and networking.

Although even small financial grants can provide local organizations with some additional money to fund a program, we believe that supplying non-financial resources can provide a more meaningful, long-term impact by strengthening the core of your organization, board members, employees and our entire community. Some of the resources we offer include:

  • networking
  • relationship-building
  • strategic alliances and planning
  • other organizational support

We invite you to contact us with ideas, questions and concerns that relate to our community and your organization.  We are confident that we can help identify and build human and organizational capital in our area that will lead to increasing the strength and resilience of our community as a whole.

“What I do you cannot do; but what you do, I cannot do. The needs are great, and none of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can all do small things, with great love, and together we can do something wonderful.” – Mother Teresa
