We are celebrating an exciting milestone in the 2026 Sparks of Change Campaign: thanks to the generosity of donors across the Greater Itasca Area, we are officially one‑third of the way to meeting our 2‑to‑1 matching challenge.
This year’s campaign is powered by a remarkable commitment from an anonymous donor who has pledged up to $66,000 in matching funds. For every dollar contributed, the donor adds two more—tripling the impact of every gift. A $100 donation becomes $300 in support of local philanthropy, strengthening the Foundation’s long‑term mission while empowering the next generation of community leaders.
A Dual Investment in Community Impact
All funds raised through the Sparks of Change Campaign—including the matching dollars—will be split between two important GRACF funds:
- The GRACF Foundation Fund, which supports the Foundation’s long‑term sustainability and ability to respond to emerging community needs.
- The Youth in Philanthropy Fund, an endowed fund that empowers local high school students through hands‑on leadership, grantmaking, and community engagement.
This dual investment ensures that donor support creates both immediate and lasting impact. Contributions help sustain GRACF’s mission today while also equipping young leaders with the tools, confidence, and experience to shape the future of the Greater Itasca Area.

The 2‑to‑1 match reflects the donor’s belief in the power of local philanthropy—and in the community’s willingness to invest in future generations. Since launching its community campaign efforts in 2024, GRACF has directed more than $60,000 to local causes and charitable funds supporting animal welfare, youth development, the arts, environmental initiatives, and other community priorities. The Sparks of Change Campaign builds on that momentum by strengthening GRACF’s long‑term capacity and investing in youth leadership.
Reaching one‑third of the match goal is a testament to the community’s enthusiasm and commitment—but there is still important work ahead. Unlocking the full $66,000 match will require continued support from donors, businesses, and partners who believe in the power of philanthropy to spark meaningful change.

Community members are invited to join GRACF at the 2026 Sparks of Change Annual Celebration on September 24, 2026, at CoHaus in Grand Rapids. The event will bring together donors, community leaders, businesses, and supporters for an evening of connection, celebration, and impact.
Early bird tickets are available through August for $75 and include complimentary food and beverages, live music, and opportunities to connect with others who are making a difference.
