GRACF is seeking passionate, community-minded individuals from across the Greater Itasca Area to serve on our Board of Directors.

As we continue to grow our impact and invest in the future of our region, the Foundation is looking for dedicated leaders who share a commitment to philanthropy, community development, and improving quality of life for all who call the Greater Itasca Area home.

Board members serve a three-year term and may be reappointed for up to two additional terms. New board members will begin their service in January 2027.

Founded in 1994, the Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation was created by local residents who believed that collective generosity could strengthen communities and create lasting change. More than 30 years later, that vision continues to thrive. Today, we steward more than $40 million in charitable assets and have distributed more than $36 million in grants and scholarships to support nonprofits, students, programs, and community initiatives throughout the region.

Through partnerships with donors, businesses, professional advisors, and nonprofit organizations, GRACF connects charitable giving with community needs, ensuring local generosity creates meaningful and lasting impact.

The Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors composed of individuals who live and work in the Greater Itasca Area. Board members play a vital role in providing strategic leadership, overseeing stewardship of charitable assets, and helping advance the Foundation’s mission to inspire philanthropy and strengthen communities for generations to come.

Individuals with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives are encouraged to apply. Previous board experience is not required; a passion for community impact and a willingness to serve are the most important qualifications.

Applications are available online HERE. The application deadline is September 30th, 2026.
