The Nashwauk Area Community Fund (NACF) will open its 2026 Fall Grant Cycle on September 1, providing local nonprofits and community organizations with the opportunity to secure funding for projects that improve the quality of life for residents throughout the Nashwauk area. Applications will be accepted through September 30, 2026.

The Nashwauk Area Community Fund supports innovative, community-focused projects that address local needs, encourage volunteer involvement, foster collaboration among organizations, and leverage additional resources to create lasting impact. Grant funding is available to qualified 501(c)(3) organizations and other eligible nonprofit entities serving Nashwauk, Nashwauk Township, Keewatin, Pengilly, Buck Lake, Swan Lake, and Goodland Township.

Since its founding in 2000 through a generous gift from longtime Nashwauk resident Marion Kumpula, the Nashwauk Area Community Fund has grown into a permanent community endowment dedicated to investing in local priorities. Over the years, more than 250 donors have contributed to the fund contributing to its continued growth. Through investment earnings, the fund has distributed over $400,000 to support local programs, projects, and community initiatives.

“The Nashwauk Area Community Fund exists because community members believe in investing in the future of our area,” said Dan Kelly, Chair of the NACF Advisory Board. “Each grant cycle provides an opportunity to support organizations that are making a difference in the lives of local residents, creating stronger communities, and addressing important needs close to home.”

Recent grants have supported a wide range of local initiatives, including youth programming, educational opportunities, outdoor recreation, public safety, community events, and other projects that benefit area residents.

Organizations seeking funding are encouraged to review grant guidelines and submit applications online at www.nashwaukfund.org. Applications should include the organization’s nonprofit status, project overview, contact information, and details regarding the intended use of grant funds.

The Nashwauk Area Community Fund is administered in partnership with the Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation (GRACF), which serves as the fund’s financial managing agent. Together, NACF and GRACF work to ensure charitable resources are invested back into the communities they serve.
