The Nashwauk Area Community Fund (NACF) awarded $10,750 in spring 2026 grants to support seven community projects benefiting the Nashwauk-Keewatin area, along with a $2,000 scholarship for a Nashwauk-Keewatin High School student. The scholarship recipient will be announced at a later date.

Grant recipients included the GNK Basketball Boosters, which received $3,000 for equipment, gear, and medical and first aid supplies. The City of Keewatin was awarded two grants: $1,000 to support the Keewatin Police Department Bike Safety Program and $2,250 for bandstand repairs and improvements.

Independent School District #319 also received multiple grants, including $1,000 for the STARBASE Innovative Learning Program focused on STEM education, $2,000 for Spartan Outdoors to purchase snowshoes, $500 to support the Junior Class Prom, and $1,000 for the N-K Trap Club to cover the cost of rounds, clays, and tournament expenses.

In addition to this year’s grantmaking, NACF has an exciting opportunity to grow its impact through a $50,000 matching grant available now through December 31, 2027. More details about the fund and matching opportunity will be shared soon. Community members are encouraged to consider a gift to the NACF Endowment Fund to help increase future grantmaking and support for the Nashwauk area.

NACF serves Nashwauk, Nashwauk Township, Buck Lake, Pengilly, Swan Lake, Keewatin, and Goodland Township. The fund is managed by the Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation. For more information or to donate, visit nashwaukfund.org.
