As the demand for mental health and supportive services continues to grow, Northland Counseling Center is expanding its focus beyond immediate care with a new matching opportunity aimed at building a lasting financial stainability.

Through a regional initiative led by the Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation (GRACF), and supported by the Blandin Foundation, Northland Counseling Center has been selected as one of eight nonprofit organizations eligible for a matching grant opportunity. New contributions to the Northland Counseling Center Endowment Fund will be matched up to $25,000, effectively doubling the impact of each donation.

This initiative provides a meaningful way for individuals, families, and businesses to invest in the long-term resilience of mental health services in northern Minnesota.

For decades, Northland Counseling Center has served individuals and families across the region with a wide range of behavioral health and supportive services. From outpatient counseling and crisis response to programs supporting children, veterans, and individuals with disabilities, the organization plays an essential role in promoting well-being and stability throughout the community.

While annual funding supports current programs and immediate needs, building an endowment ensures that these critical services remain available far into the future. Endowment contributions are permanently invested, generating ongoing income that can help sustain operations, respond to emerging needs, and maintain access to care regardless of economic conditions.

The endowment match is part of a $200,000 effort coordinated by GRACF to help local nonprofits strengthen their financial stability through permanently invested funds. Every gift made to the Northland Counseling Center Endowment Fund during the match period will be doubled, accelerating the growth of a permanent funding source that supports critical mental health services across the region.
