The Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation (GRACF) continues to make higher education more accessible for students across the Greater Itasca area thanks to the ongoing generosity of its donors. In 2025, GRACF administered over 98 donor-funded scholarships. Many of these funds award more than one scholarship, resulting in a total of 207 scholarships awarded in 2025. Altogether, $333,000 in scholarships were granted to 127 students in the Greater Itasca Area.
These scholarships reflect the strong belief that education changes lives—and that supporting students benefits the entire community.
“Our community’s commitment to education is truly inspiring,” said Mindy Nuhring, Executive Director of the Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation. “Behind every scholarship is a story of generosity—individuals and families who believe in the power of learning and want to empower students to reach their full potential. We’re deeply grateful to the donors, volunteers, school counselors, and scholarship committees who make this all possible.”
GRACF scholarships help support students pursuing two- or four-year degrees, trade and technical training, and other educational opportunities. Each scholarship is a testament to the donor’s values, and each award brings students one step closer to achieving their goals.
