Nashwauk Area Community Fund donates to N-K 5-6th grade science classes
A $2,000 grant from the Nashwauk Area Community Fund (NACF) helped buy supplies for 5th and 6th grade science students in Nashwauk-Keewatin. N-K fifth grade teacher, Mr. Lysaker, planned to purchase science materials both disposable and reusable for the classroom. Items planned for purchase were microscopes, batteries and bulbs, magnets, soil, seeds, paint, paper, pulleys, weights and measures, roller coaster materials, rockets, chemistry supplies, and a wide variety of other materials that will improve learning for students. Join GRACF’s Harvest Fun(d) Fest and Help Three Local Nonprofits
The Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation (GRACF) is having a Harvest Fun(d) Fest to help celebrate their 30th Anniversary and their Seeds of Change campaign which kicked off in the spring of 2024. Twenty-five local nonprofits applied to the Seeds of Change campaign, and between June 7th and August 2nd, community members voted for their favorite nonprofit from the pool of applicants. Over 800 community members voted, and the top three nonprofits were: Boys and Girls Club of Grand Rapids/Greenway, Great Tails Animal Rescue, and New Beginnings Pregnancy + Family Support. Each of these nonprofits will receive $500 from GRACF
