The Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation is proud to participate in the 14th annual Give to the Max Day on Thursday, Nov. 17. Give to the Max is a statewide giving event that raises millions each year for more than 6,000 causes across Minnesota and beyond. Considered Minnesota’s holiday for generosity, donors have given more than nearly $255 million since the inaugural Give to the Max Day in 2009.

Locally, in 2021, the Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation awarded $1.95 million in 713 grants and $221,000 in 145 scholarships.    The Foundation is also home to 53 local nonprofits who provide direct services to individuals and families, as well as nonprofits that support arts and humanities, community, education, environment, peace and safety, sports, recreation and animals, workforce support and development and area youth.  “One fund to consider for Give to the Max Day is the GRACF Foundation Fund.  The Foundation Fund is an endowment fund that serves as a resource for future operating costs of the Foundation.  An endowment for operations is an essential component of our ability to be self-sustaining.  A steady income from investments in this operating endowment will allow the Foundation to continue to charge minimal fees for management of all of the Foundation’s funds. I hope that donors consider a gift to the Foundation Fund on Give to the Max Day to ensure the continued success and uninterrupted service this organization offers. Thank you to everyone who supports the Community Foundation,” says Mindy Nuhring, GRACF Executive Director.

To participate in Give to the Max, donors may visit GiveMN.org and search for the causes they care about most by name, keyword, ZIP code, and more. Give to the Max’s “Early Giving” period begins November 1 and continues through Give to the Max Day on Nov. 17, with random drawings throughout for more than $100,000 in prize grants for Minnesota organizations.  Donors can also donate directly through the GRACF website:  www.gracf.org/donate.
