Cotton Park is located on the north end of Trout Lake in Coleraine. It includes a beach area, public boat landing, and small playground. The City of Coleraine has plans to vastly improve the playground by purchasing new equipment and filling in the area with safe ground cover. It’s a beautiful spot for children to play. It has a great deal of potential and could currently use some upgrading.

Members of the Greenway Area Community Fund are happy to award the City of Coleraine a $2,000 grant (from the 2022 grant cycle) to help support this worthwhile project. Theresa Troumbly, Coleraine City Councilmember, stated, “We firmly believe that many children and their families will be impacted by improving this play area. The current equipment is out of date. Our goal is to replace the existing items and include handicap accessible pieces. We are eager to get started on this project and are reaching out to additional funding sources to make this happen.”

Ann Vidovic, Greenway Area Community Fund Board member, added, “The mission of our board states that when awarding grants, we should emphasize youth activities.  This equipment upgrade is a great match for our funds, and we are happy to support Coleraine and their efforts to revitalize the city. We are excited to see how this area transforms as the work is completed.”
