The Nashwauk Area Community Fund (NACF) is a community-based fund that provides discretionary grants to projects and initiatives in the Nashwauk area to improve the quality of life for local citizens. The NACF grant cycle is open this year from September 1 through September 30. This fund provides grants to 501(c)(3) and other not-for-profit organizations in the Nashwauk, Nashwauk Township, Keewatin, Buck Lake, Pengilly, Swan Lake and Goodland Township areas. Top 3 winners of the Seeds of Change Campaign Announced
Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation (GRACF) announces the top 3 winners of its “Seeds of Change” campaign, celebrating GRACF’s 30th Anniversary. This campaign was designed to uplift the invaluable work of local nonprofits and bolster the Community Foundation’s sustainability. Through August 2, 2024, community members voted for their favorite nonprofit and 840 votes were collected. The top three nonprofit organization winners are Boys and Girls Club of the Northland – Grand Rapids/Greenway Division, Great Tails Animal Rescue and New Beginnings Pregnancy + Family Support. Run a mile with The Great Itasca Giveback!
If you want to participate in the incredible 250 mile, 36-hour journey of three local community members who are raising money for eight area nonprofits, Saturday, August 3, 2024, is the day! The Great Itasca Giveback has already raised over $40,000 for eight area nonprofits. The Great Itasca Giveback is made up of Phill Hermel, a Deer River teacher, Dr. Simon Lick, a Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital physician, and School Resource Officer Troy Scott of the Grand Rapids Police Department. Seeds of Change – First Round of Voting Ends August 2nd
Voting to narrow down the 25 applicants to 3 is in its final days. Get your vote in before (or during) our First Friday Artwalk Event THIS FRIDAY at 4 pm. Voting closes at 11:59 pm on Friday, August 2nd. On Monday, August 5th we will announce the 3 applicants that will be moving on to the next round.
